Why would this bother you? Loads of people, including myself, have DM without having to submit fingerprints. Fairly certain it is only asked for when there are similarities between your details and someone who has committed a crime in Canada. Then they ask for fingerprints to check it wasn't you.
That is interesting. When we went in originally in early 2012 to the commissionaires to get my clearances ( RCMP and FBI ) they did two kinds of fingerprints - electronic for RCMP and on paper for the FBI. I just assumed everyone has to do it. Lol

Yeah you should have heard something by now if you applied in March? Did you get AIP yet? Medicals and police cert up front?

We retained an immigration consultant at the beginning of our application process in 2011. He gave us a list of things we needed to do to apply for PR, and it included both RCMP and FBI clearances. I married my Canadian spouse in 2010 and I'm American.

Help? :) I either gotta cancel my appointment on Monday or go and spend more money.

So something strange is happening.

I didn't send medicals with my application as I thought they'd request it later when it is time.
I got my AIP, OWP. and a letter stating that I need to renew my passport etc. There was no mention of medical request on it.
I still went ahead and booked a medical appointment with a doctor, which is on March 10th, 2014.
I signed into e-cas and see that "Medicals were received" ??? LOL
I'm not sure how.

I did do medicals somewhere in 2010 for a refugee application that I had. I'm not sure if they're getting it from there or whats happening. Should I just cancel my medical appointment or still go through with it. Its confusing. I'm so tempted to not do it because they didn't request it. But I'm not sure.

Keep the appointment!!

Since you know that you did not have the required medical exam for your PR application, it's obviously an error in your eCas file.

The last thing you need is to find out later that `you should have known better' and CIC gives you grief for `not knowing better'.

Your medical from 2010 has lonnnnng expired and cannot be used for your PR application.

Hi there,
I think it's worth a call to CIC, Medical usually expires in one year, but I've heard that sometimes they accept it for a longer time if you are healthy. But 4 years a long time, it's better to check with them first.

Blah, still on vacation, but still no landing appointment from the Halifax office even though we received DM on February 20th. I'm really hoping that they didn't just pass over us completely. :/

Ah I did meds in December so that's why i'm ahead probably. Sure you'll hear something this week. Think meds take about a month for them to get.

Strange. I thought you only did RCMP if requested. Maybe different for Americans, or your consultant made a mistake. Anyway it's done now and isn't going to hurt your application. Unless you're a notorious car thief or something.

Lmao......yes, probably overkill or a mistake on his part, but it's done now.
Hoping stage 2 moves along quickly. God bless everyone that their applications move along swiftly too.

CIC does allow extensions of your medical results. Never heard it for this long of a time but CIC might have let it slip through the cracks.

If CIC did not request medical results why would you do it.

From CIC website

Note: If you had already completed an immigration medical examination, you must provide proof. Depending on how long ago the examination was completed, you may have to do it again. CIC will advise you if a new medical examination is required.

Linxord,

I guess it's up to you. You have AIP & OWP so I would say it's a matter of what is more important to you. Money wasted on an exam you may have not needed versus possible extra time waiting for your DM b/c you found out later that you needed a medical exam.

I wonder if it has something to do since you've been accepted as a refugee already in Canada. Maybe they don't require another medical exam in this scenario.

I would call CIC.
