Hello Everyone,

Im in a sticky situation and need some advice. My girlfriend had a 1 week TRP ( Temporary Resident Permit), issued to her on the 4th of January 2013. We applied for the extension of TRP but it was not granted (processing took until the 24th of May to complete). She was issued a refusal letter and told to leave canada and return to India. We got married ( Im a canadian citizen), in February while we waited for the TRP decision from CIC. We were dating for 2 years before the marriage and I have plenty of evidence (photos, phone records, emails) to prove that it was a legitimate relationship. My question is whether she should go back to India and do an outland sponsorship or stay here and try for the Inland (she will be out of status). My worry is that the outland will take even longer than the usual processing time due to the questions the TRP would raise . Should I try the inland Sponsorship? I don't want to be away from her for months or possibly years. Your insight will be greatly appreciated.

Well that was fast! I just checked this morning and our application was put into process May 30th! Huzzah!

Guri3577 I want to join your spreadsheet pls.. :(

mrsc08 you are already there:D I have arranged everyone according to the application received dates, so it will be easy to compare with people with similar timeline.

Checked my application status and it is already in process. It went in process on May 30,this seems really fast. Now only if the visa officer could start giving AIP for this year applicants ;)

I have a feeling that there won't be much time gap between AIP and DM this year.

Thank you for taking over the spread sheet. I hope we start getting the AIP and DM this year. However I am a little worried because they are still processing applications sent on the 8th of October which might mean delays for 2013 applicants.

Hi everyone....

I was hoping I could get some reassurance/advice with my application.

I am living in Quebec with my common-law spouse and sent our application to Vegreville in January 2013. The only communication I have received since was a request for further information (work history, organizations, address history) on February 15th. I mailed the information a few days after it was requested.

I have been reading about others applications and looking at the spreadsheet detailing the progress of applications. I have not received an acknowledgement of receipt (or was this not sent, as the letter requesting further information acts as notification my app has been received?). When I log in to view the status of my application on-line the only update is 'Application Received: January 28th 2013'

Should I have received other correspondences or should my status on-line be at least 'in-process' by now? Judging by the spreadsheet people received AOR and their application changed to 'in-process' extremely quickly after it was received :s It has been over 4 months since they received my app now.

I called CIC and they just reiterated the 6 months plus 8 months processing times as stated on the website.

Hello! I understand your stress and concern. I send my app march 4, got AoR march 20 and csq may 9, my app appears "in process". To my understand, they ask you for more documents because when you sent your file it was unsufficient... Which of course delays your evaluation.
I never got a letter asking for more documents cuz i honestly put eerything i had in my file (even the more ridiculous proof) and thats why for me it when faster.
The fact that the agent in charge of your case consider that your file wasnt sufficient and ask you for more proofs, has made that your file is back on a pile... And it will take a while to check it again..
I'm assuming you dont have a file numer or a identification number? You just have to wait... As long and tedious as it is to be in this stress! Good luck!

Guys i have a question on IMM 0008 form
question number 4 - Immigration Office requested for processing this application? I am applying inland.

It doesn't really matter because there is no choice - this field really only matters if there is an option (like a UK citizen living legally in the US and applying outland can choose London or Ottawa, or an Australian Citizen living legally in Regina and applying via the Outland process can choose Sydney or Ottawa).

Write Vegreville or CPC-V and you'll be fine.

hi guys
I was reading in some other thread that if your application goes in process for stage 1 that it is highly unlikely to be called for an interview. Is it true? I do know that VO has the right to request an interview at any time, but has anyone you know of been called for an interview after status shows " in process".

I'm pretty sure it's true, but by "Stage 1" they mean AIP, so approved in principle, not "in process".

I guess i should have put it more clearly. My status changed to " in process" for stage 1 so, I was wondering if there is a good chance of not having an interview.
