Hi everyone

Long time watcher first time poster

Talk about being frustrated,our 6 months was up on the 22nd July and still not so much as a word.we contacted our MP to call and were told we have to wait until the cic website changes from oct 8th to dec 5th before they can do anything with it

But also my wife rang the call Centre last Thursday and they said...that our app is in process and looking good,it's still in part one but she also said that they were looking into background checks!!!this really confused me as I thought background checks were a part of part 2??!!

Would also like to add I'm sick to the teeth sitting around all day every day waiting for something to happen.im a fully qualified carpenter from Ireland and raring to work so me and my wife can finally start living our lives the way we are meant to.the whole process is taking a toll on us both.but we are with one an other in the same home which helps but it's still not easy

If someone could add me to the spreadsheet that would be awesome

App received Nov 8 2012, AOR jan 11 2013, sent to Vegreville. We've spoken to our MP and well, Nothing new. Emailed again on Friday so we'll see what the response is nowadays.

I don't live far from vegreville, maybe I need to sit in their steps for a while.

I think its because we are up north (Barrie), she asked if we wanted to come to the date Aug 20th in toronto, or wait till a team comes up to North bay in September, but Noth bay is too far for us, and I would rather drive to Etobicoke and take the earlier date. LOL

Honestly didn't think CIC would be so accomodating by sending a team out to North Bay outside their CIC landing offices.

I found this page yesterday. CIC says that they will be offering itinerant services (services provided outside local CIC offices) in regions across Canada. 'Itinerant services' include the following.
Immigration: Landings, Interviews and PR Card distribution

(Unfortunately, these services are not offered at every place, though. )

So, I guess the officer who talked with krissikris said about this.

Why does the Out-land process seem so much easier and quicker, its so stupid it doesn't make sense. The fact that your NOT even INSIDE of Canada during that process and that its shorter processing times and 99% of the time doesn't require a interview.


Yet all of us who are already INSIDE of Canada are waiting for a complete ridiculous amount of time, almost 3 times the amount of time for out-side of Canada applications. It goes to prove that Canada doesn't really look after their own do they?

It makes more sense that if your IN CANADA already that's treated as Priority as your in Canada and your currently Canada's responsibility. Its crazy to think these Outlander's are being completed first.

I think its because they want families to be reunited sooner. Inland applicants are already together, but I know where you're coming from ..Hopefully AIP's go back to 6 months as it did last year

I have to go with jenny's post on this. Outland takes higher priority over inland purely on account of reuniting spouses/families together first. Inland Canada applicants are already together with the sponsor so there is no hurry for their application to hurry through without any consideration of harm of spouses waiting at home unable to do anything ie work or get health coverage.

The Outland process may seem easier and quicker, but not all places are quick. As for me I contemplated applying outland from Canada, but POS is just as slow as Vegreville. Still hoping I made the right decision.
