May I ask Jurjen why you didn't mail the medical with the PR application? This is what is recommended but I sure you know that by now.

I indeed read that. I didn't do it, because I didn't want to take a chance to let the results expire. I am not getting nuked with Rontgen radiation for fun or because I have too much money. Mainly the health reason was my issue. Therefore I wanted to wait.


About the name change: maybe it's Québec province that is a pain in the a**? I am very sure reading something on a government website about that it's not possible that easily.

Well the medical part sounds like a good reason. However, they often extend the validity so I don't think you would have to be too concerned. The name change bit, I totally forgot about that with Quebec, yes you are correct about that. The rest of Canada it is fairly easy to change your name though. And your tips about the loan is really good. Thank you. Well good news I have been an authorized user with hubby's credit cards for over a year now so I am sure that helps some. But we may just have to wait until I land. I know some banks offer help with a good car loan when you are a newcomer. I should check that out, what do you think? Once you get approved, are you going to work full time or go to school? I think you said that you were around 21 yrs old from what I remember. Did you finish college or university back home?

Sorry dear, I never saw this until now.
I am going to work full-time if not part-time is okay too. I am looking into going to school next year. This year we are focusing on the main things like our own apartment, jobs, car, etc. Then focus on school. And yes, I am 21. I actually met my hubby before even considering going to college (we met online 3 days after my high school graduation) so no, I didn't have the chance to go then. It is tough sometimes when I see my friends graduating college soon but it is okay, none of them have moved to another country and started off new with a great spouse either. I am happy with how my life has turned out and especially for my age. Many people don't even get this lucky. I am very blessed.

I GOT AIP WOOHOO!!!!!

I just want to thank you all so so so so so so much for never letting me give up and always being there. Even when it meant listening to my whininess and grumpiness. I can never thank you all enough. I cannot wait for everyone else to get news. I am just a wave of emotions right now and to be honest I don't think it has sunk in yet. Hubby and I will be celebrating tonight for sure. Now lets just hope Canada Post isn't on strike for too long. Lol. Once again thank you so much. I love ya guys so much and can't wait for that chart to be completely filled in with approvals. Woohoo!

Oh really? Sorry I wrote while you were driving lol but glad you got it. Hehe. Thank you for writing back and celebrating with me. I'm not familiar with this, but the only way to find out is go out there and ask. ;-)
Just don't get a too big loan and settle for a simple car (if you really think you need one in the first place). Especially since you're not working YET, they might be a bit afraid and want to give you a smaller loan and/or higher interest rate.
Personally I don't like loans, they freak me out. I'd rather save money and buy it directly (car dealers also tend to give a discount when they don't have to expect their money in terms). Every day I ride my bike to work and back (6km), even through the rain, simply because I don't feel the need to own a car and be stuck in traffic every day, sponsor Shell&co. with their high prices, sponsor horrible insurance companies, etc. I admit: in the winter I took the bus, but I shared the month subscriptions (75$) with my wife and did some carpooling with colleagues. Saves a lot of money that we'll for a month trip to BC this summer.
Just some for your consideration. ;-)

By the way, it's the first time to read your age. Wow, that's brave at 21! I'm not so far away (24) and I even consider myself very young doing this.

I am 20, my partner is older than me and we got approved without any interview, I see no reason why they wouldn't approve your application, your case is definitely a straight-forward one. I bet you will land within the next weeks.
