Everyone files their own return, but you do have to put your spouses income on the front page of your return and he does the same on his return. That's what people mean when they say "file together". Even if your income is zero you still put that on the return.

No. There is no appeal for inland spousal applications.

Hey, Cutieshashie,
That could be great if they take the OWP requests again separately. I wanted to get it attached to our file in December and of course at that time it wasn`t allowed. I`m going to wait if I get my WP extension in March or not and decide at that time about my OWP. If I get it, I`m in no rush to have the OWP, I would work for the same employer anyway.

Material- You are very welcome! Hope you will be able to find out what is going on. Keep us updated and good luck!
hello again!

i called cic again and he confirmed that that is the case - you can send owp requests separately as long as you provide a letter of explanation as to why you didn't submit it at the beginning and to include all of your information, client id number etc., and to instruct them not to process until stage 1 approval.

You cannot get a tax credit for sponsoring your spouse, however you can claim your spousal amount on line 303 if you meet the requirements here is a link for line 303. I hope this helps

Hi TeresaLynn, I sent you a PM. Thanks for all the tax advice. My friend is currently working for the CRA but he just started so he isn't as informed as most but he did tell us about the spousal amount. My question for that would be: Do we both need to claim the Spousal Amount or just my husband who is the citizen? I am assuming it would be him since it is saying if you supported a spouse with less than $10, 382 then you can claim it and since he is the once working and supporting me then he would be the one to claim it, correct?

If the course is for less than 6 months than you can study but for anything over that you would have to get a study permit or wait until PR to go take the courses. As far as I know, I don't think you can hold both a study permit and work permit. When you get AIP you can choose (if you haven't already mailed an OWP) to either obtain a study or open work permit. I had considered the study permit but how would pay for the schooling without a job. That is why I chose OWP.

Another Question please

Is the API granted on the same day of the interview or does it take a while after the interview ?

If ofcourse they find you eligable

Thanks !
