Hi all,

I have applied for PR through the family class, inland back in early February and am currently awaiting my assessment that should arrive in the fall.

I am an EU citizen and I was wondering if I can leave Canada for a few weeks in this interim period or not?
Would I have difficulty re-entering when I return even if I bring my AOR and other receipts? I don't work or study, I would just be "visiting" and awaiting my application to be processed.
I will be with my husband (Canadian) and baby son (Canadian).

When you apply inland you should not leave the country during the process. You could be lucky and everything could work out fine. But even from a visa-exempt country you never have the guarantee that they will let you back into the country. Worst case scenario could be that CIC cancels your application

.

You shouldn't have any problem, but basically you would be putting the fate of your application solely into the hands of the border immigration officer you happen to get when re-entering Canada. Many people have done this with no problem, but it's up to you if you want to take the risk.

Seems like a "better safe than sorry" scenario...I definitely would not want to jeopardize my application.

Thanks so much for your responses!
