My husband (Jamaican) is here with me in Canada awaiting a final decision on Inland spousal app. On the application I am sponsoring my step son as well.(He is still in Jamaica) It is soo hard to be apart for such a long time. Is it possible for my step son to come visit us for 2 weeks and go back to Jamaica befor the application is done processing?

I don't think there is anything against traveling while awaiting approval. I'd assume you'd just need to ensure he has a visa (if needed) and some sort of proof he'll be returning to Jamaica in 2 week (Ie: return ticket - letter from mother, something) just incase there was an issue at border.

Im concerned that if he is denyed that it will affect his sponsorship application that is process...does anyone have any experience with this?

You can apply for a trip visa for your step son. There is definitely a chance that he could be denied, but it will not effect his current application. I think the application for a trip visa only takes about ten days to go through, either way it is worth a try.

Thank you for your responses. I just finish checking out your Kingston thread..very inspiring! Looks like you have made some good fiendships in light of a hard process to go through. I can only hope for the same.

Janadian :)
