Hi,
I am moving back to Canada after 3+ years living in the states. I am trying to bring my car. The import process seems fairly clear. However the export process (on US customs side) is not. Has anyone done this recently?
Specifically, how do i get an ITN number? The RIV site says that Canadian residents need to use http://www.autoexports.us/ which costs $75 for some reason. I am currently an American resident. I am bringing my own car which I purchased 3 years ago. The link for that form doesn't work, and seems to be replaced with this one: https://ace.cbp.dhs.gov/pkmslogin.form.

Should I be using this US customs ACE site? If so, how on earth do I get a login account for it?

Thank you.

Why isn't that link working. Are you currently in the US?

That's the easiest way to do it. Paying $75 isn't a big deal, you need to pay a broker/exporter to get the ITN number. You can't just get that as a private citizen AFAIK.
