Hi,

I am a in a dare situation now and would appreciate advice from people who have had similar experiences. I am currently on a post graduate work permit to expire in september, i got a permanent job in my area of study about 3 months ago in Saskatchewan. I have created my profile on CIC for EE but my score is low so decided to try SINP. Unfortunately, i will only be eligible to apply for SINP early-mid september as per the requirements which stipulates a minimum 960 hours or 6 months. My main concern now is since my PGWP expires same month and i would like to remain in Canada while i await a decision on my application, What options are available for me to maintain legal status? can i extend my work permit?

Assuming that you're applying under the student category, the only way for you to be eligible is to apply before you PGWP expires as thats one of the major requirements and also you have a job offer in your field of study along with the SINP job approval letter that your employer must apply. If you have enough work hours and have all the necessary documents, you can apply to SINP first and see if they can process your application before your PGWP expires. Or your employer can apply for LMIA so you can get another work permit if you want to keep working

Can you qualify SINP job offer stream? If your employer can sponsor you for SINP job approval letter you should also qualify job offer stream, which will issue you PNP Work permit along with nomination

PGWP is once in a lifetime permit and cannot be extended once your entitled length of stay is used up

Thank you for your comments. I plan to submit my application under the student category but my works hours will only be adequate right about when my visa will expire. i already have a job offer and SINP approval letter. so what i get from your comment is that i can not apply for an extension immediately i send my SINP application.
