Hi sharpe!!

Maybe you could list the question usually ask during Speaking Exam? This will be able to help us a lot in preparing for the oral exam. highly appreciate your response on this matter.
Thanks

Well I can't tell you the *actual* topics, but Part 1 ask basic personal questions about where you live and what you do. Then it asks fairly simple questions about all kinds of things (watching television, clothing you wear, being busy, being patient).

For Part 2 and 3 there are probably 50 - 60 different topics. Common topics include health, education, holidays, the media, an interesting person you know, or tourism.

What is the best score for IELTS? How much it can help us in passing the visa interview?
Don't know what you mean by best score... I'm not an immigration expert so others could help you with the visa interview part

Dear Sharpe first of all I'd like to thank you for your initiative to help others on this forum. I plan on giving the IELTS test however I have no preparation whatsoever. I bought official IELTS 9 book, only to find out that it doesn't helps in preparing for IELTS, but only to assess myself.

Can you please confirm if the following books are of any use for IELTS general,

101 helpful tips for IELTS (academic version)
202 useful exercises for IELTS (International edition)
Ace the IELTS (first edition)

Also if there are any other books that be helpful then please advice.

Thank you.

Hello sharpe88!
I took my IELTS last june 6, 2012 for speaking , june 9, 2012 for writing, reading and listening. There's this date June 21, 2012 ( i believe this was the results date). May i know if these results be turning 2 years old (expiring) on the test dates or on June 21, 2014? I am asking this because i am applying for FSW 2014 and i am thinking of submitting this ielts result to CIC on June 18th, 2014. But if its expiring on the 6th and 9th...then i might as well retake..:( and that is another dent on my pocket but then again, what choice do i have..
Thanks for the reply in advance :)

Hi Sharpe,

I m from Dubai n taking my GT - IELTS on 21st June. I wanted to know in reading will the answer wrong if we do not write (a) (the) (an) in answer where appropriate for eg.

Qn: what is given as a possible reason for an employee having to take a holiday at a certain time?

in practice test I simply wrote shutdown, in answer key its mentioned (a)/(the) shutdown

what is the correct way?

Appreciate your feedback

Sushma, why would u modify the answer mode

it must be a shutdown

u must pre-fix grammer to it / vowels.

good luck

Hi,

I appeared for IELTS on 7th June,2014 and scored 6.5 band overall.

L-6.5
R-6.5
W-6.5
S-6.5

Kindly calculate my points for Canada FSW program and also correct me that only lowest band out of four sections is used to calculate scores.
Regards,
Mukesh Bhaker
