Hi all,

I am a Tunisian new graduate who got an internship offer and applied through the IEC program to get the work permit. I started my application on April 27 (applied to get invited to the pool) and submitted my work permit documents on May 8th. On May 10th, I got the invitation to go to the visa center and give biometrics. Since then, I got nothing from CIC. My application status is " review in progress" for over a month now. I was supposed to start work on June 6th. I am so confused and I hope someone can help me. I couldn't find anyway to contact CIC and see what's wrong with the application. When I check the duration to get the IEC visa, it says 8 weeks but for my case, it is way more than 8 weeks now

8 weeks from MAy8th so July 8 th. Processing time starts when you submit your documents not when you enter pool or receive ITA.

1. Interesting, Tunisia is not listed as eligible for an IEC work permit. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/iec/eligibility.asp

Still interesting as Tunisia still not a country that qualifies for the public IEc program unless there is some arrangement behind scenes between the government and a third party

That very same page states

If you are from a country that does not have an agreement or arrangement with Canada, you must use one of the ROs listed on this page.
so I guess it's open to all if you use an RO.
