Have been working for over a year, not sure if LMIA is required to change my IEC permit to a employer specific one?

And IEC doesn't give additional 50 points? IEC does not require employer to get LMIA to hire me in Canada.

Thank you.

Yes - an LMIA is mandatory. Your employer has to start by advertising the job for at least a month following the LMIA advertising requirements.

You can get the points for the Canadian work experience for the work you did on IEC permit, if you apply for PR. The points are calculated based on the number of years you worked (no matter on what kind of work permit it was).

Thank you. That's what I thought so.

Yes, I have the point for a year experience. But it is not enough because of my age and not all my language test scores are over CLB9, so don't have the additional points.

You can take the language test again, after preparing for it, to increase your points. And once you have two years of work experience you get more points too.

Only thing I can try to improve is the language from 108/136 to as much as I can.
I would not be able to work over 2 years, that's the limitation of the permit.
