There are people complaining here that they the day they chose ICAS. I can only say that if you dont 'have to go through ICAS' then just redo it via WES. It does take money but you will have your reports in a month and that increases your changes manyfold, given how things are going.

Consider that you had to take ielts once more. that's how much it costs. Only people like me should be on ICAS, those who can't get ECA any other way.

I always thought people choose ICAS only if their course was not evaluated by WES. Like in my case, WES does not recognize SMU so I am here. I submitted my Delhi University bachelor's to WES and they evaluated and gave me the certificate within 25 days. Not sure if there are people whose course could have got evaluated by WES and they are still here.

Yeah same, WES would have done my Bachelors but not Masters, SO I sent both to ICAS. SMU-DE as well.

I thought the same but reading comments from 2 -3 pages, there are couple of people complaining that they shouldnt have gone for ICAS. So I just think that if anyone who's here waiting for ICAS then they should just redo everything and apply for WES instead. There's no reason to wait for ICAS because right now it looks like if you don't get lucky, then you wont get it before 2020.

I was aware that ICAS takes 6 months and above that's why I did my bachelor's evaluation from WES so that I can be in the pool atleast. My current CRS is 423 and profile is active which gives me a chance for the PNPs and also gives opportunity to apply jobs via job bank.

I am yet to take IELTS but given how long it's taking (more than stipulated 6 months). I am rethinking this and will probably do what you did. My documents reached them last month but it's not been added to queue yet. So by all measures, I wont get the eca before Feb/march.

Unfortunately, I chose ICAS thinking the 5mths stated on their website is true. Evaluating with WES for my country means processing some other documents that are not easily assessable. However, if I had known their 5mths assessment process will take more than 10months (I sent application since Dec 2018) then I would have tried WES. For your updated info, WES now takes over 2mths from the time they get your application and that's minus all the certificates I have to process from High School examination body. My application has been in queue since first week in February, which means I'll get d report soon, would you still advice I go for WES? Clearly not. Nobody knew it was going to take this long.

ICAS is now processing documents received on 18th December 2018. So if your documents reached them during this period, then a week more wait might get you closer to your dream canada.

I'm surprised to see that it took nearly 11 months for you to get your ECA report. That is so disappointing for people like me who had submitted their request in the month of Apr 2019.

Like everyone else the only reason I chose ICAS is because if SMU-DE. I think it might be a better idea to apply for WES to get my bachelor degree assessed, Atleast that would give me an option to be in the Express Entry Pool and apply for PNP.
