Hi,
I have a very urgent question.

I'm an international student who arrived in august 2013.
I'm majoring in the Finance at 2 year College program .
While entering Canada in Toronto I told an immigration officer that, since my course has obligatory co-op component I also need a work permit that will allow me to work during my internship, which is between year 1 and 2 of studying as we'll as during year 2

And... I was given TWO permits at one time.
So I hold a Study Permit and Open Work permit now

SP
Case Type 30
Bonded NO
Institution: Other technical
Field of study: Any post secondary

Conditions
1. Unless authorized, prohibited from engaging in employment in Canada
2/ Attendance at the university, college or institution specified by the immigration officer
2. Must leave Canada by ....

WP
Case Type 24
Bounded NO
Employer Open
Occupation Open EA
EMP Loc Unknow
FEE STATUS FPA
Conditions:
1. Unless authorized, prohibited from attending any educational institution and taking any academic, professional or vocational training course
2. Must leave Canada by......
3. Not authorized to work in 1) Child care, 2) Primary or secondary school teaching, 3) health services field occupations.

Not Valid from employment in businesses related to the sex trade such as ........

So - does it mean that I could work part time even now? I have read on this forum that people could hold only one permit at the time - but it what I was given by the officer ...

There is no any others remark on both permits

I would appreciate any suggestion

Have just examined CIC site ind found this

-------------------
Co-op work program
Work experience is a required component of some programs of study, for example co-op and internship programs.

In these cases, an open work permit can be issued with the institution listed as the employer. In cases where several work periods are necessary throughout the program, the work permit can be issued for the same period as the study permit.

To be eligible for a work permit under a co-op or internship program, the following conditions must be met:

you must have a valid study permit (unless you are a minor high-school student who does not require a study permit);
your intended employment must be an essential part of your program of study in Canada;
your employment must be certified as part of the academic program by a responsible academic official of the institution;
your co-op or internship employment cannot form more than 50 percent of the total program of study; and
you are not a medical intern or extern, nor a resident physician (except in veterinary medicine).
---------

So, it's mean that it is possible for a student to hold both permits ( in other case a student silly can't legally work during intern period)
It is also stated that institution should be indicated as employer
However in my case, I should take internships in bank do my choice. So it implies that the bank of my choice wold be my employer and I told this to the officer. That is why I think I have an open employer field.

So this is my reasoning
Would appreciate any suggestions
