Hey guys!!!

I need help! :(

I searched my question in this forum but I couldn't find an answer to it. I also try to send a case inquiry to CIC but they didn't answer me. :(

Here is my question:

My ECA from WES educational equivalencies are as follows:
1) Diploma (three years)

2)Completion of a certificate-level program:

Credential Authentication: Official transcripts were sent directly by the institution
Country: United States of America
Credential: Academic Transcript
Year: 2009
Awarded by: Parkland College
Institution Status: Recognized
Major/Specialization: Web, Graphics and 3D Animation
Canadian Equivalency: Completion of a certificate-level program

Canadian Equivalency Summary says "Diploma (three years)"

Which should I choose for Express entry?

1) Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer

OR

2) Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.

Is anyone is the same situation than me?

Not sure if I can choose "Two or more post-secondary program credentials"

For the course you did first, select Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute.

for the second course, select Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer

This way you will get 128 points (if you are applying without a spouse or common law partner) or 119 points if you are applying with a spouse or common law partner.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes for you application.

Thank you mazamilam and crazydesifool for the prompt response!!! ;)

But i am not sure if I can claim the points of "two or more post-secondary program credentials".
although my second course is a post-secondary program, it is just a certificate, not a diploma or a degree.

I am afraid of choosing it and ended up having my application denied. :(

Is it written somewhere that a course has to be a minimum of one year? Would either a 6 month computer or hospitality management course in addition to a 3 year BComm count as two credentials?

2 semesters count as one year programs. I completed my Bachelors in London, England and completed and eight months (counted as one year) Post Graduate diploma from Centennial College. I got 119 points, as I applied with my wife.

@Pippin 6 months will not count as a one year course. Only your bachelors would count towards your profile.

Hi Guys,

I have created my EE profile since Nov 4 and my EE score is 422. I applied with my common-law partner. I am just worried after reading from different threads that most of the people are getting their Provincial Nominee invitations within first 10-15 days after they create their profile, but my profile did not meet this criteria for some reasons.

I have just read on the Ontario PNP site the news they have posted on Nov 24 ontarioimmigration.ca/en/pnp/OI_PNPNEW.html that we need to create new profile and it has brought me now more tensions.

Here is my profile:

EE Points - 422
Profile type - CEC + FSW met, OINP not met
NOC - 0114
EE profile created - Nov 4 2015

I am PGWP for 3 yrs and it expires in July 2016, and my common-law partner's PGWP expires in August 2017.

I would really like to hear suggestions from all the experience people out here.

Regards

I think for OINP, its for those who made their profile before july or aug and didn't receive PT, you need to read the post on their website.

Hi Mazamilam :)
I think i am in the same situation as you were - I have a Bachelors degree ( Australia) for which i have ECA- 3 years and I have done a 1 year graduate certificate from Centennial College in Toronto.
1. Please tell me if i can chose " Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees" when filling out my Express Enrty form
2. The Graduate Certificate from Centennial College was done in 2 semesters back to back but it is a 1 year program. Just that i finished it earlier since i did not take any breaks in between the semester. Will this be counted as 1 year certificate?
3. For the question "Have you earned a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate?"- I would need to put Yes( if my Centennial Certificate is 1 yr) and then chose "One-or Two year diploma or Certificate"- Am i right in this? Will CIC make any issues or reject my application if

Appreciate your help since you have gone through a similar process.

Thank you

Apologies for the late reply. You should select Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years as you have done your Bachelors internationally, and have completed you 2 semester course at Centennial College. I completed my course at Centennial College back to back as well, it was still considered a one year course when I applied for work permit after. Yes for questions 2 and 3.

Thank you.

Hi all,

I have an Associate Degree in Arts from community college in the US. Then, I transferred to state university in the US, and earned a bachelor degree in Accounting. Can I select "Two or more certificates, diploma, or degrees" for my application to get more points? My concern is because I transferred 64 credits from community college to university, & I did 57 credits (in 4 semesters) to earn the bachelor degree in the university.

Thank you in advance for answering my question.

What you select it dependent on how WES (or whichever Educational Credential Assessment Service) assesses your degrees. They might only assess your Associate's and Bachelor's Degree together as one 4-year Bachelor's Degree (if you're lucky - these services often tell people that their non-Canadian Bachelor's Degrees are equivalent to less than a Bachelor's, or that their Master's is only equivalent to a Bachelor's etc.). The only way to tell for certain is to get the assessment completed.
