i have visa can i apply for PR

Hi dear

thanks god i received my visa for 5years . my question to all my experts friends can i apply for PR?
my visa will not canceled once i submitted my PR? :'(

and how long take the process for PR from outside canada ( in kuwait)

A visit visa is completely separate from any PR application and can coexist whilst a PR application is being processed. Just because you may have a visit visa valid for 5 years doesnt mean of course you can visit for a whole 5 year period probably only 6 months at a time maximum but each visit will be determined by CBSA at the port of entry..

have you even checked whether you qualify for PR application as without knowing that answering the how long question is not easy as PR applications have different outlooks. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/eligibility.asp

A PR application has nothing to do with your TRV.
