Dear friends

I got PPR from CPC-Ottawa to submit my passport by COURIER ONLY to their Embassy in Cairo but no instructions whatsoever on how they will send back my passport. What's Ottawa's assumption here? Will they simply send it back to my "mailing" address? Or do they assume I will include a pre-paid service if applicable? Or do they expect me to collect it in person? Please please help, it's urgent

+1 promised for every reply

First of all, congrats :)
When you go to courier office to send them the passport, tell them you want to pay for a 2 way service. Once they stamp it, they will simply send it back through the already paid courier back to you. Best and easiest way. That was what I did long time ago when I got a visit visa from abu dhabi visa office.
Good luck

Return courier envelope is best option. This will help you to track the return courier as well. Also, please make sure you write a letter about this.

Best of luck!!

Thanks guys, appreciate it

Any other thoughts anyone?

Does the instruction specifically mention courier through VFS Egypt?
Normally the embassy does not accept direct courier from applicants due to security reasons.
This is a rare case though..I might be wrong.

Good observation. But it is indeed asking me to send it the embassy, see image below from my PPR letter.

And yes it's a rare case since there is no VFS offices or Canadian embassy in my country, hence being asked to send it to the embassy.

This is really bothering me as this is literally the second PPR letter I get, since I couldn't go to Tunisia in the first one. Also, I will fly to Egypt so don't wanna take the risk of losing my passport when sent back (which is not clear yet how they will send it) as I will not be able to leave Egypt without it!!

Yeah, as others have said, you'll have to include a self-addressed prepaid courier envelope. You don't necessarily have to be in Egypt. It's done cross-country all the time, but I understand your reluctance.

I did call them just now, they weren't helpful at all. The lady on the phone said she can't transfer my call to the visa/immigration section as they don't have a number. She even said she can't take my details and pass to them!! I told her I emailed them twice with no response and she said "email them again"

Send them through VFS, below is the address:

Giza St., Giza, Egypt

Well, as per embassy. You should send the passport directly to the embassy by DHL because VFS here in Egypt does NOT handle PR applications or PR passport requests. When the embassy stamp the visa on your passport, they will send you an email for COPR, you then call DHL to arrange a pick up from the embassy and the DHL does the pick up and delivery for you.
That's the process here in Egypt.
I hope you did that already
