i have been here since june 2009 - almost 1 and half years
this country has alot of taxes and not many opportunities for new immigrants -
high rent
high expenses
pay about 12 -15 % tax when u spend
and pay 30 % tax when u earn
so they have 45 % of your pay and then rest u spend in high car insurances and rents and high groceries
hard to survive here without 2 jobs
some even do 3 jobs

please please dont leave your jobs in your current country in lie of getting permanent residency in canada

its a country for u if u r billionaire and want to spend your money here
i am seriously considering going back to my previous country where i left a good job to come here
its all about taking the money u have - instead of giving u anything
please evaluate and think 5 to 10 times before moving here

hay i feel sorry for you, i really dont understand why you moved canada if your thinking about money
you could gone to gulf countries,
for me is like living a good life not like alien in ur own country, money come and go but living and beeing in a good place is very hard to find
its all depends on u what u want to do with ur life...

my file rejected 3 times and still am trying to get canada visa only to live in peace and feel free just like is my own country.

anyway best of luck where ever you go..

regards
rKo

Because my points was less than 67 and my English was moderate, but now I have Job Offer which is approved from Service Canada, and my elder brother
is living in Canada, so total points are 74 of course with ielts, my score in ilets 8 all the time so my next test is 20th Nov,2010 , after the results I will apply immediately
now i don’t have any problem with scores I hope this time I will make it inshalah.

good luck then but now a days you know CHC need High ielts score. my points is 78 and they are not happy with my ielts score

L 5 R 5 W 4.5 S 6 Ovarall band 5 this was old

L 5 R 4.5 W 5.5 S 6 Ovarall band 5.5 this is new result

i don't know why they are very strict with ielts.

my VO is london.

what is you visa office?

Theyd be strict on Black or white wives. I am sure in coming days theyd be strict on more children. No visa for people having more than 1 child. Weird things happening.

I am confused, in this post http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-to-get-pr-card-t43462.0.html;msg306257#msg306257 you say you landed in April.

what country did you come from anyway? if you had it so good in your home country then why did you leave?
I believe immigrating to Canada is something most of us here have contemplated on before we proceeded with applying for PR. I know you're just trying to help by warning us that life can also be hard in Canada but it comes across as somewhat discouraging. It's a new country, therefore all of us has to start over as if we just graduated from university and gain the much needed "canadian experiece".

it's not true that you pay high taxes but don't get anything in return, how about healthcare? free education for the kids? the infrastructure? and retirement/pension when you get old? security/peace? that's where taxes go.

i hope you figure out what is best for you. best of luck! :)

Read about my absolute answer to your money and taxes issue: for me my 2 children cost me around $9000 in school fees in Lebanon, (don't ask why), in Canada not only free schools but they get a real education. If all the taxes amount to $9000 per year, I am still winning LOL

We are very much acknowledged about western society and we decided to move there n considering all things.....

Why not u consider these things before moving to Canada??????????

i landed in last year june 2009 and family followed in april 2010
its just my heart felt that i am sharing
health care is not free in british columbia - its 58 $ per month - unless yr employer is paying for it
