Usually Super Visa is granted for 10 years and it allows parents/grandparents of Canadian PR's and Citizens to stay up to 2 years on a Canadian soil. The Visa office is not obliged to issue a 10 years visa, they may issue a visa with a different duration. The reasons behind this are unknown to me.

The medical insurance does not guarantee that the visa will be issued for the expected period of 10 years.

Hi there,

The immigration will surely have the exact explanation for you to understand. It may be health issues, financial issues or maybe passport expiry date.. That I am not sure. Only the immigration can answer your question.

Or maybe you mistakenly applied your parents for a regular trv instead of a supervisa???

Hi there, the same thing happened to us. We applied for a Supervisa for my mother-in-law - we bought 1 year medical insurance also. However she got a V-1 visa, which is the visitor's visa. But her passport will expire Sept 2015 and her permanent application file is in Delhi - it is next in queue for processing. We think that is why she did not get the Supervisa and it is her first time travelling out of the country.

Thanks!
