Hi everyone, I hope I can get some help please.

I applied for permanent residence under Spouse sponsorship in land, I am in the last phase, they have contacted me for a final appointment Jan 21st 2015. I have been asked to take my immigration documents to the visa office and just when I was checking on my papers I realized that the extension of my temporary resident visa has just expired (Jan 01 2015). I however have a work permit paper and the expire date is June 2016 so my biggest question is: Do I still need to extend my temporary visa even if my work visa has not expired? I am concerned that showing these papers won't be enough proof of immigration status for my appointment.

Thank you in advance.

Since legal status was not a requirement when you submitted your Inland application, you should be fine.

Congratulations!

As long as you have legal status (work permit) to live in Canada you are good.

Thank you for answering :)

Again...legal status was NOT a requirement for an Inland applicant. It was, however, still recommended but was not mandatory to be eligible for PR.

You are going to a landing appointment. Your status papers are now irrelevant. They won't care if that thing expired 12 years ago. It won't make a difference. You've been approved and are now landing.

Congrats and enjoy this new chapter in your life!

You have valid status as a worker until June 2016. The fact that your TRV is expired has absolutely ZERO impact on your status in Canada; a TRV is merely an entry visa. There is no need to apply for a new TRV.
