I am writing a letter of explanation and in it I am mentioning that my parents will be financing all my living/tuition expenses. To support that statement, my parents will be writing a letter or affidavit. What details should they include in it?

Basically in the letter, they should state your name and details and confirm that they are willing to support you, also state their yearly income detailed, state any form of asset they have and their value in (funds), and other funds that they have also(fixed savings etc.). Then ensure all the documents to back what is stated in the letter is provided as proof of funds.

My father wrote that I am so and so, taxpayer code, year of birth and passport number swear to support my daughter so and so throughout her (number of years) of her study in such and such uni. I swear to pay her yearly tuition and fees of so and so cad (so and so usd) as I did with her previous university as well as all of her transport and living expenses.

Completely agree with you. One more piece of advise - in some countries notary already pulls all of the info such as address and ITR number from the system. Show this text to both advocate and notary before printing on an official blank, they might edit it a tiny bit to avoid redundancies (for example, duplicate info both in letter and on top
