I am mechanical engineer and is applying for FSW 2014, I want to know whether there is mechanism to monitor
cap for a particilar occupation. Also want to know when the cap was filled in last two years for mechanical Engineers and purchase managers.

They have a page on the CIC website. Here it is at present (using the 2013 caps right now): http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp. It is updated roughly every week (some weeks more than once, some not at all)

A word of caution when examining the status of a cap:
It takes time to process received applications (there is a queue), so just because a cap is announced as still open doesn't mean you stand a chance if you submit an application at that point.
So, last year the programme opened on the 4th May, and Mech eng applicants after the first week of August had their applications returned, but the Mech eng category was only announced as full on 12th November.

You can get more information on last years programme from the forum spreadsheets: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Aovj20uHVWyzdGFqSGJUOEtVX0h5eWM0cXB5dlAtOEE&gid=1

Thankyou +1 for this! That means i stil have time. I have sent my docs to ICAS for assessment 2 weeks ago. I have everything ready, just waiting for the ECA report from ICAS. Hope i will submit it in the 1st week of june and i hope i will make it! :)

Hello Guys, I'm new here. I applied under 2132 mechanical engineers category in 2013 but unfortunately they sent my file back 'cap full' reasoned. This year all my documents are ready; can I send my file on 30th July or on 1st may?
Regards.

I think you should wait till 1st May cos should there any changes in forms. So you have to make sure that you are sending all updated forms. As the cap is 1000 this time, you dont need to be worried for 1/2 days. all the best to your application process.
regards

Follow this forum. U will get a better idea here regarding cap fill.

I'm applying for NOC 1123 Professional occupations in advertising, marketing and public relations.
Based on experience do you guys think it would be too late for me to apply on late JUNE? I have IELTS Band 8 in hands but I need to take IELTS again because mine is Academic, so I only got dates for early June. I'll have my IELTS in hand on late June.

Do you guys think that would be too late for me? :(

Sheikh bhai, as I can see you've also applied for 2132 category as mine but in 2013 of course; I want to know when exactly you dispatched your file? And will my file reach In time if I dispatch it within first 10 days? Just for my reference. Regards.

Really hard to predict. The cap is higher this year, so you might be OK.
I would say give it a try - you definitely won't get in if you don't submit anything!

Thank you, brother! Best of luck to all of us!
