How to know Case # if did not receive AOR

I noticed some folks here did not receive AOR on approval of sponsorship cases but they know the dates of when the file was transferred to Visa Office. How can I know the case nr if AOR was not received?

It's very important to me to know the answer as we will need to send some missing spousal docs to VO as we get the Case nr.

We didn't receive AOR, just the dated sponsorship approval letter, via email. It says in the letter that our file has been transferred to the VO abroad. By case number do you mean application number? That was also included in our sponsorship approval letter. Also, when I check e-cas, it also lists that they received our application on the same date as the courier said it was signed for.

Thanks! This application number was sponsored person's app number, right? Not yours?
There should be two case number, one yours, another spouse's.

The numbers will be in the approval letter/email. Not all people receive an AOR but almost everyone receives the approval, though I've seen a handful of cases that didn't.
One thing that many people do is to call the call center. Apparently sometimes the agents will give the UCI and the case number if the file has been opened.

On a different note, if you have ever dealt with CIC before, then you will have the UCI number already, as it never changes. e.g the PR card number is the same as the sponsor's UCI number.

Unfortunately, I haven't heard anybody mentioning that they received an AOR from Ankara, so I guess you should be on the look around the month mark at least.

Thanks! Yes, I have UCI of my own, which is on PR card.
Does it mean that when our case arrives VO, my wife can send those missing photos indicating my UCI? Will they be able to match photos with our case?

I think so, yes. Because when I log into eCAS with my UCI, I see the status for both the sponsorship and the PR application. However, I think you can still wait for the approval letter to send the photos.
Also, all of the numbers (the sponsor's UCI, the applicant's UCI, the file number assigned in Miss., and the file number assigned in the VO) are available in the GCMS notes. I honestly have no clue why so many numbers!

I'm also thinking closer to the time, you can also do a case specific inquiry or send them an email informing them that you are sending them the photos. I know there is a place on GCMS for the incoming communication and this will be in there and the officer will know that you are sending these. You should have enough time to send your photos to the VO on time.

Thank you! It's pretty much clear. Then, they should be able to identify our case based on my UCI and the file nr created by Mississauga.
