How to get a file number (and access e-cas) if visa office doesn't send AORs?

I am able to access e-cas as a sponsor but how would my wife access e-cas to see the status of the Perm. Res. application if she doesn't have the Bxxxxxx number (which would only be provided in communications from the Visa Office, but there haven't been any)?

Would it be ok for us to contact them or is that going to delay the application?

p.s. visa office is London.

thanks.

The information that you would see on ecas, whether logging in with your own information or with wife's information, would be the same. I wouldn't suggest that you contact them at this point since you are so early on in your application.

yes, ariell, is right, you can always check the status of sponsored spouse's application using sponsor's client ID. the information is exactly the same.
you can try to send email to your visa office requesting your file number. they maybe send it to you by email.

Based on your signature, you already know that your case started processing on nov. 4. There's really nothing else that you will see on ecas until your case is finished processing and a decision has been made. If they require any additional documents etc., they will contact you by regular mail, not via ecas.

Ok, somehow I thought from other posts I'd read, that the info. would be different when logging in as the principal applicant.

My main concern is to see whether they have received medicals. I know that they have started processing, but since we did medicals 5 months ago, I would expect them to be there, and just don't know if they are.

I'll follow the mantra 'no news is good news' for now :)

information is exactly the same. if they had received they would have mentioned it in the ecas when you click on in-process line. visa offices receive medicals within 3 weeks when they start working on the application. they usually update about medicals the time the change the status to decision made. but there are some rare cases when they updated info about medicals earlier.
have a good luck, and do not worry. everything will be just fine. :)
