My child (who just turned 18) will extend their study permit inside Canada to study at a university.
I am also in Canada with a visitor record and would like to keep accompanying my child for one more year to help them adapt to their new university life.

To minimize the risk of refusal / boost the success rate,
A. Should I attach my VR application with my child's SP application? (could my application cause my child's SP application to be refused?) I had success with this method previously.
B. Otherwise, should I submit my application separately (after getting my child's new SP)?

The proof of funds we can currently show is Tuition + Funds required for 2 people.

What are the Pros and Cons (risks) for both application methods? Which method do you recommend me to choose?

Method A:

Pros: 1 Stone 2 Birds (no additional waiting), Perhaps less scrutiny because of the primary application of the "In Canada Study Permit"?

Method B:
Pros: My child's SP application would not be affected.

Thanks to those who replied to my thread! May the universe bless you with good luck, fortune, and health!

A. No. Your visitor record is not tied to child’s study permit. Assume child has PAL plus tuition and $21k. You are not included in POF.
B. When were you last approved for VR? You apply within those 6 months.

You'll also need to consider IRCC is now going to view your child as an adult. The need for parental oversight is no longer necessary.
