how to choose a public school

Is there any option to choose a public school for elementary education, which rating should be followed? Please advice....

The school(s) your children will be allowed to attend will be determined by where you live. As for rating systems, you'll need to let us know where you're planning on living (city).

I will be heading to Canada shortly and my daughter should be attending elementary school there, I am however clues as how to go forward and what to expect. We will be living in Brampton, will I have a choice in which school she will attend or this devoid ion will be made solely based on my address
