Just ask here - when enough seniors tell you the same score, it means that the number is reliable.

OR

Google IELTS points calculator to double check.

Can you plz tell me the following IELTS result in light of the CLB

Listening: 8
Reading: 7.5
Writing: 7.5
speaking: 7.5

Thank you

Are you asking how many points you will receive with your score?

If yes - you'd get:
Listening: 8 = 6 points
Reading: 7.5 = 6 points
Writing: 7.5 = 6 points
speaking: 7.5 = 6 points

Total = 24 points.

Your scores are eligible for everything you want to apply for to CIC

Through their chosen exam, applicants must prove that they meet or exceed a minimum threshold in all four language abilities (listening, reading, speaking, writing). This threshold is set at Canadian Language benchmark (CLB) 7, which is defined as "adequate intermediate proficiency".

IELTS test results correspond to CLB scores as follows:

CLB Level 9 - IELTS Listening: 7.0 Reading: 8.0 Writing: 7.0 Speaking: 7.0
CLB Level 8 - IELTS Listening: 6.5 Reading: 7.5 Writing: 6.5 Speaking: 6.5
CLB Level 7 - IELTS Listening: 6.0 Reading: 6.0 Writing: 6.0 Speaking: 6.0
CLB Level 6 - IELTS Listening: 5.5 Reading: 5.5 Writing: 5.0 Speaking: 5.5
CLB Level 5 - IELTS Listening: 5.0 Reading: 5.0 Writing: 4.0 Speaking: 5.0
CLB Level 4 - IELTS Listening: 4.0 Reading: 4.5 Writing: 3.5 Speaking: 4.0

Listening = 7.0 = 4 points
Reading = 7.0 = 6 points
Writing = 6.5 = 5 points
Speaking= 6.5 = 5 points

Total - 20 points

And yes - you're qualified for PR in this part of the evaluation.

Hi,

Can anyone help me in counting points for my below IELTS score?

Listening - 7.5
Reading - 7.5
Speaking - 7
Writing - 6

My consultant is saying I will get only 16 points though I have score more in Listening, Reading and Speaking. Because CIC has only three Slots of giving points i.e 1) 4+4+4+4 = 16 Points, 2) 5+5+5+5 = 20 Points 3) 6+6+6+6 = 24 Points.

But after going through this blog I am getting 21 Points.

Please advise!

Thanks.

Hi

I scored

S- 8.5
R- 8.5
W- 7
L- 7.5

I think i scored 23. My immigration consultant says that while applying for PR, I can either claim 20 points or 24 points. Is that right?

Kindly help..

Many thanks

21 points is the correct number. Not 16/20/24
