Hi, i believe this thread is more useful on dicussing about employment prospects rather than collecting relevant data.......

My wife is the PAand an occupational therapist in our case while i am a customer service professional with call center managment certification... what are the prospects for an ocupational therapist and a customer service/call center profesisonal to get jobs over there.....she has been working with children with special needs (autism, cerbral palsy, MR etc) for 4 years now while i have been assocciated with customer services for alsmost 6 years now...
Here you can get info for Occupational Therapist:

To practise occupational therapy in Canada, you must register with and meet the requirements of the regulatory organization in the province in which you wish to work. Check more at:

LANDED..........
Vancouver, BC (2011)
When I opened this thread, I was expecting to see some sort of a database containing info such as
1. date landed
2. PA's NOC
3. number of CVs submitted related/not related to profession
4. Number of weeks to get response
5. Number of weeks to get first job
6. Related/Not Related to profession

so that readers could get an idea of how things could go in job hunting. Anyone who would like to start?
Thanks for starting this thread.

Nice Suggestion..I might as well request to include the locality where the memebr is currently staying and searching for job.

1. Date Landed
2. PA's NOC
3. Locality for job search
4. number of CVs submitted related/not related to profession
5. Number of weeks to get response
6. Number of weeks to get first job
7. Related/Not Related to profession

Could members please specify the above details so that all can get good idea of the job market there.

Hi Molu,
I have landed in june and since my profession is a regulated one I have to give a licencing exam to practice(Occupational Therapist). When I applied for immigration back in 2009 I also started the credentialing process and got the exam date 3 july.
Thankfully passed the exam with god grace and got a job in my field. This job is underpaying but its still in my sector so no regrets.
For all Occupational and physical therapists there r so many jobs but to take licence is very difficult and exam is of canadian standard.
All the best
pammi
Hi Panmi, how long of a time did it take you for them to finish processing yourcredentials before taking the exam? I'm a Radiologic Technologist and will have to go through credentialing process..
thanks

I'm from USA and I have 12 years of financial services experience and have my investment license series 7 & 63. Most client service position in wealth management or investment services require CSC, IFC or other licenses. However, I have received 3 offers two in which I declined do to salary and one was re-sended for bad credit in the USA (still trying to understand if this is illegal); Not sure why BC salaries in financial services are disappointingly small compared to Calgary or Toronto? Also, you have to interview well in order for the potential employer to look beyond licenses if they see value in you as a candidate.
