Hi All,
I just got the passports back here in USA. There were shipped May 3 through a regular mail. They did not use the UPS prepaid envelope and enclosed it inside the package received today.
Best wishes to all of people are waiting

Congrats Speednab! All that waiting is finally over! When and where are you doing the landing? Airport or by car at a border?
I am expecting to receive my passports in 2 weeks hopefully. I cant wait to go back to Canada.

Lightning fast? 9 weeks is lightning fast?

Hi,

our passports were received in Ottawa April 22. We are in Canada so enclosed a CanadaPost prepaid envelope--I've requested e-mail tracking but no news yet.

However (and this is a big "however"), my partner is the principal applicant and her work permit expired through a really unfortunate series of events, so she has a pending restoration of status application which I believe will probably affect the timing for our PR process.

Any senior members reading who can comment on the possible interaction between PR process & temporary status process? We received the PPR & RPRF notice after the work permit expired & we submitted the restoration application so I am assuming CIC is aware of the issue, but it's still unclear how that will work itself out. I believe that even if/when we receive COPR we will have to wait to land until the restoration of status is approved (UGH), which means an additional 3 months or so of waiting.

Good luck to all.

Trackers usually got activated between 7 and 8 PM EST, so check back later by 9 PM to see if there has been an update. I don't think restoration of status would matter. I'm assuming your wife has applied for renewal of work permit before it got expired, right?

Sorry, it's just that two of the QSW applicants that got their trackers activated yesterday had their passports received by Ottawa only two weeks ago. I hope you get your passport back soon.

Is there anyone who is waiting for more than 6 weeks for his/her passport here? I just want to know if I am the only SPECIAL person to Ottawa or there are other SPECIALS ;)

Hi CanadaPR,

I will land as soon as I get my passport back. Since I am in Boston right now, I plan to do landing by car at the Vermont/Quebec border (st armand/philppsburg) just an hour from Montreal.

I am thinking to go to Windsor/Detroit border for landing? Has anyone completed the PR process at that border? Any suggestions/input about the documents that are required for the landing (COPR)? Thank you

Yes, I am on my 6th week as well. They received our passport in March 27 signed by Dave Turpin.

Mine was also signed by Dave Turpin, I don't know who that person is, but I heard a lot of people who are waiting for more than 6 weeks, their passports were signed by him.
