How long background check processing takes for visitor visa?

Hi All,

I have been invited to attend a summit in canada which is hosted by Government of canada. My travel date is May 28, 2018. I applied my visa online on May 8 and my application started to be processed on may 9 by starting processing background check. My question is how long the background checking process takes? and is it feasible to get a visa with the few days left before my travel?

We applied for our parents on 11th May and still waiting so just curious, thanks
