also, is it ok to highlight emails and write explanation or notes by hand?

Just printing out some emails as supporting document.

Some emails were more than 1 page long, can't I staple them? if I stack them all together, it can be confusing.
Should I highlight main points and date logs on emails? Some were forwarded, originally from brother-in-law,
or friends.

Don't staple it. You shouldn't have staples anywhere in the application.

Highlighting would be a good idea and hand written notes to just summarize things easily so they don't actually have to read the whole thing. (Not sure they will read emails anyway, but good extra proof to have.)

Need some help here:

1) I didn't split my application in three folders, just followed the checklist's order.

2) Where do I put the barcodes?
Before the checklists?
After the checklists?

3) Also, we have a page with barcodes and signature. What should I do?

Thanks in advance.

Great thread. Thanks

Fantastic info and thank you so much for sharing your tips and experience. Hopefully we can submit our package by end of April 2015.

They sell similar things to this, in plastic and paper at Staples.
Check Dollarama first to make sure there is nothing similar for cheaper.

Where are people putting the marriage license? On the checklists it it states including it in relationship proof/application documents as well as sponsor documents.

Currently, I have it attached to the sponsorship documents since that is the first envelope that will be opened. I wouldn't think it's necessary to repeat 3 marriage licenses.

What are peoples thoughts?

We put ours with the sponsorship documents in the first envelope in order of the checklist.

Thank you!! I will keep it there.

Golly... My whole application was less than 50 pages...
But in saying that, I still feel I met all the requirements in providing proof etc.

Yeah, I can't see mine being 400+ pages, holy shit, lol. I was starting to feel slightly insecure until I read your posts.

Mine wasn't close to 400 pages either!

Instead of envelopes, we clipped the application into three sections, with a table of contents at the front of each. We made the possible mistake of only including the marriage license in the third clip (proof of relationship). At least our application isn't huge, but it's probably best to include it with the sponsor documents.

Quick question, guys.

I want to make the application as simple and as straightforward as possible, and am planning on dividing the application into 3 parts (sponsor, applicant, proof of relationship) like what everyone else has been doing.

But do you guys think it would be advisable to just include all relationship evidence like photos, cards, etc...in the 3rd part, without including them in the applicants part of the application? In the sponsored person questionnaire, for example, it asks to provide evidence of the relationship which we already plan on showing in the "proof of relationship" section we're making. What I'm thinking is, I can just write a note asking the VO to refer to the 3rd section of our application for all relationship evidence. That way, all photos and evidence are all in one, cohesive location.

What do you guys think?

Yes, just refer to the photos or receipts or whatever throughout the paperwork. I had photos numbered and when writing out the development of relationship question, and was talking about a certain part of our relationship, I wrote (please see photos 12-14) for example.
