How do they check US references? Seniors PLZ help!!!

My most recent work experiences related to the NOC I applied under are from US employers and most of the people who gave me their business cards and reference letters do not work in those organizations anymore. Do the officers of Buffalo visa center or anyone else from Canadian immigration call those people or how it works? The organization itself can confirm my employment there but they will not be able to characterize me bc they simply did not work with me the time that I used to work there!

Sometimes they call straight to the employer but most of the cases they ring the HR Department of the organization to confirm the employment and to confirm job duties or any other information related to job they contact the employer.

They will contact the organization HR and they will have records of your emplyment. Don't worry they are experts and can figure out easily that application is genuine

Thanks Everyone who responded so far! Sincerely appreciated! I have another question; how does the immigration officers of Canada check overseas references? The distinctive part of my work experience on my NOC is from my home country and employees back home do not speak English at all! And in general, how much of influence do those overseas references have versus the US ones?

I think from Background check it does not really matter where your experience is from. Also in your home country they do not need only english speaking people to do verification.
