How come we haven't got the file number??!!

Hi members,

I sponsoring my husband and the application was arrived at case processing center on 17 JAN, 2012. I need to update my employment information, and the CIC website says that I need the file number on the acknowledgement letter to be able to inform CPC, but they haven't sent my one yet...Does anyone know what should I do now? anyone know how long it takes to get result from the 1st phrase? (sponsor evaluation) Thank you so much!!!!

55 days, currently. 14+29+4 = 47 days so far since they received your application, so you are still under the timeline, but not by much. Patience...this is the EASY part.

Then how can I update my employment info. without a file number?
I also need to attach a letter to prove my work change,shall I go ahead and email CPC-M?

Wait until you are approved to sponsor. When you get the approval, you will have the file number and you can update the visa office processing your spouse's application with your new information.
