house hunt in calgary

i am planning to land in april in calgary. As my wife is pregnant i will need health card within 15 days of landing.for that i need address proof.so will it be possible to get a house in Calgary with lease agreement within 10 days of landing?i dont know anybody in calgary.

I would suggest you try finding someone through kijiji or craiglist..
You could email them or call them through their ad posting for rental.
For healthcard, I am not sure..since I was on OWP and had to wait for 3 months to get health card, I am not sure about landed immigrants.

To rent a house in Calgary try www.rentfaster.com. This site is dedicated to Calgary and Edmonton.

Healthcard - It will take a while to get the card but they will give you a health card number in minutes which is good to go. Make sure you take your landing papers address proof etc..
