I think if you got file number starting from E it means Economic class. But these days people are getting temporary file number also which also start with E

Depends on the visa officer . Best thing you can send another mail with explanation letter and put all the info tracking number of yiur previous application , when it was received etc along with photos and mail them to same adeesss
