Hi everyone! Greetings!
I am a live-in caregiver here in BC,Canada, I have a work permit that will expire on 2011 but my working visa will expire this coming October 2010..My employer wants to take me along with them going to Barcelona,Spain this September 1-30,2010 for a month vacation.. My question here is that do I have a 100% guarantee to enter Canada again? Do i need to apply for a new work visa again or extension visa? NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE..THANKS...

Check on your passport, the visa stamped should state single entry or multiple entry. Multiple entry means the passport holder can visit canada on numerous occassions provided he/she has a valid permit - work / study/ visitor status. Single entry states the holder can enter canada only 1 time when the visa was issued.

@ Anil-Toronto.. Yes I have a multiple visa but it will expire on October 16,2010, and we are going to Spain on September 1-30.. Will I still return here in Canada even though my working visa will expire on October 16? Or do I need to apply new working multiple visa again? And I have my working permit that will expire on next year of September 22,2011.. Thanks..

Yes you can re - enter canada by Oct 15 with your multiple entry visa. Do keep your work permit as you might be requested to show it on your return. Since you have a valid work permit which expires in 2011; any doubt in the Border security officer's mind would be cleared.
