I plan to submit my PR application outland next month under common law. Initially I read on my country's website that police clearance can be obtained within 1 day of application. When I went to the Consulate, they informed me that the ruling had changed. It is going to take at least 2 months. I now will have to delay submitting it for a further at least 2 months and my problem is my visa does not allow me that length of time. Yes, I am in Canada on a study visa. I am thinking of putting in my application and then separately sending CIC the police clearance once I receive it. Has anyone done this before? Any advise and comment is appreciated.

its best you call a call agent - they are usually helpful and go from there

good luck!

Sorry which category are you planning to apply? is this sponsorship if you are on a study visa? You would have to provide more details for ppl to comment.

Without a PCC they usually send your application back..also depends on which country you are from and how long it takes..you can summarize in a cover letter but still without a PCC which is on the checklist your app might be sent back..try your luck..calling cic wouldnt help..they will just tell you what is in their GUIDE.

Tks fprince. Guess I have to wait. Very confused at the moment. With my visa expiring, its not helping.

Hi

Hi Cdn gril,
I'm also sponsoring my husband from India. I checked my ECAS this morning and it says' in process'. We recd ur applcnt on Feb17, and started processing on Mar 17'. I think u had the same issue. I'm getting a little paranoid!!!! Shld I be worried?
Did u get the letter yet? If u hvn't try calling the automated line...I think it will say what happened to the applctn.
Anyway...I seriously hope it's all good news!
