Dear friends,
I m new to this forum,
I m feb,2010 applicant.
My file got in process 2012, i m waiting for medicals.
I came to know that vo is asking for old passport along with new one, but i lost my old ppt in dec2011 while my trip to uk. Though it was already cancelled in dec2010.
Thank you in advance.

Your source of information please? I had not been asked or at least it wasn't being specified that an old passport would also be required along with the new one when I received the PPR.

This is surprising because I also have a new passport (my older one got expired) but I hadn't been asked to enclose old passport with the new one. My passport is already with Buffalo VO. Lets see if they come back and ask for it. It could be based on case-to-case basis though because I have never read about any such requirement on atleast this forum which I follow religiously.

On a side note, if you'd lost your old passport, you must have filed a police report? If you did, you can provide a copy of the report which should be good enough as far as requirement is concerned. However, since I am not a lawyer please do not quote me on this. Lets wait for other forum members to chime in.

Could the difference be that some visa offices require ALL passports to be submitted and others don't?

Pippin....this could also be one of the reasons or may have something to do with background checking...who knows?

dear friend u have FIR copy of lost passport and photocopy of old passport.SEND THAT to cic
Indian

Thanx friends,
As my ppt was lost in uk, i have crime reference number. My bag was lost in UK, but that time i didnt remembered to put my old ppt in my missing items. Whem i came to know that my old ppt is lost, it was too late, just about 4 hours before my flight.
I tried to write a police report here in India, but they refused.
Is that crime reference no is enough?

I am of opinion that you require all your passports(expired and current-even while travelling).

If you don't have than have your police complain number(FIR) ready.
