Help! Embassy closed in Cairo!

Applied for TRV last month thru Visa Application Center VFS. It has been 3 weeks. 4 days ago embassy closed till further notice due to civil unrest and clashes near the embassy in Cairo. Yesterday, my father (who is canadian and lives in Canada) was admitted to the hospital. I have to be there as soon as I can. I got a letter from his hospital that I intend to add to my application. How can I do it now that the embassy is closed. Any idea what to do to get the visa to travel to my ailing father while the embassy is closed? thanks for your help

Now that the embassy in Cairo will open. I really need help.

I mentioned before that I applied for TRV in June thru Visa Center. Still no reply of course since the embassy was closed for over 2 weeks. Now that my father is at the hospital in Canada, I have a letter from the hospital addressed to the embassy explaining my dad's condition and how imperative that I be there as soon as possible. My question is how can I submit the hopsital's letter to be added to my application documents? do you think it's a good idea to go to the Visa Center? or send an email-inquiry to the embassy?

has this happened to anyone before? adding additional documents to already submitted application?

Thanks again se7en for your good wishes. I went to the visa center and gave them the letter. They were really understanding. They said that usually they give priority to such cases.
