Help! Education details in Schedule 1 Background/Declaration

I am little confused with education details in back ground declaration.
It asks the number of years of school from elementary to post secondary. I have done my BE fm India now i guess my number would come to 16 years of education.
Then it asks the full details of Secondary and post secondary education. Do I need to fill high school (10th grade), higher secondary (12 grade) and College (BE) or just the higher secondary (12 grade) and college?? Please suggest

If high school starts in 9th grade in your country, then yes, include 9th grade.

I am from india. a bit confused in filling the education details in schedule A form.

will intermediate can be counted as college education as i studied my intermediate in college.

Also, for secondary education - can i mention period from starting 9th class and ending 10th and keep certificate details i got after my 10th.

FROM --- to ---POST SECONDARY(IN CANADA, if you have)(2 years)
FROM --- to ---B.E(UNIV/COLLEGE)(4 years)
[size=10pt]FROM --- to ---higher secondary(intermediate)(combined secondary/ higher secondary )7 years
FROM --- to ---Secondary[/size]
FROM --- to --- Primary(5 years)

FROM --- to ---POST SECONDARY(IN CANADA, if you have)
FROM --- to ---B.E(UNIV/COLLEGE) add yrs spent in indian university and canadian university, enter in corresponding box
FROM --- to ---higher secondary(intermediate)
FROM --- to ---Secondary add years spent in secondary and higher secondary, enter in corresponding box
FROM --- to --- Primary - enter number of years in corresponding box

I am assuming like this, please confirm with seniors on this forum.

i can keep 5 years primary, 7 years secondary/high school and 4 years for my engineering.

but schedule A form is insisting to provide full details of secondary education with certificate obtained. in my country, there will be only one certificate for grade 10 and one certificate for both grade 11 and 12.

My concern is if i keep 7 years as secondary/high school, what certificate/diploma should i mention for grade 6 to 9.

engineering - 4 years - certificate name
intermediate - 2 years - certificate name
grade 10 - 1 year - certificate name
grade 6 to 9 - 4 years but no certificate

what should i mention for grade 6 to 9

Plss suggest..

I'm not sure I see the issue - it appears your country uses the british system of education just like mine. We also get one certificate after completing Form 1-5(5yrs) and another after completing high school(2 yrs). The certificates are issued in the final year of each level, that is, in Form 5 and the last year of high school but it does not mean it is for that year only. Perhaps this is where your confusion lies?

It appears you get the grade 10 certificate after completing grade 6 to 10 and then another one after completing 2 yrs of high school. Please check with your school to confirm.

If that is the case, then you complete the form as follows:

engineering - 4 years - certificate name (degree name)
intermediate - 2 years - certificate name(if this is high school, name of high school certificate)
grade 6-10 - 5 years - certificate name(in this case name of grade 10 certificate)
primary - 5 yrs

So for the boxes: primary = 5; secondary/high school = 7(add yrs in blue ink); university/college = 4 for a total of 16 yrs. Hope this helps.

One thing I wanted to add - cic is interested in the number of years of formal education you've had. My lawyer told me that a minimum of 14yrs is required. So it is in your best interest to count all years of formal education instead of being fixated on the certificates issued. Each country has a different education system and visa officers know this.

I am filling background application form of my wife as a dependent, she is in 3rd year university student, so i am confused that should i mention in education back ground that she is currently studying in 3rd year or i dont need to mention it, because i am confused due to statement under education column which is "Give the numbers of years of school you successfully completed for each of the following level of education"
