Help: applied earlier but not on the new list - software engineer

Hi, i applied to skilled worker category few months ago with complete documentation but my software engineer field is not on the new list.

any idea if or when we will get the final words on our submitted application ? i have been hearing news on this forum that the new list might be droped ...... is there still hope or we should ask them for our application to be returned (i hate to do that)?

am a software engineer too as well
if ur occupation is not in the list, u may apply for PNP programs.
if u know french, apply for Quebec.
it might take up to 8 weeks to hear from cic about ur case.

does PNP program needs job offer ? i am on H1b in US ....so not sure if i should go for the pnp at this time.

can we apply for the pnp and then go later after h1b is completed in US?

are u on H1 in the us? so you can apply for Alberta pnp. it doesn't require a job offer.

hi...the link you sent with list of alberta pnp occupations doesnt have "software engineer". do they still consider software engineer for alberta pnp ?

also....is it only alberta pnp that take h1b without job offer ?

Alberta is the only province with a special program for people on H1B visa. Most other provinces will only have a provincial skilled worker program which lets you immigrate if you have a job offer or if you are already on a temporary work permit in the province. Some provinces also have investor classes, family classes, etc.

If you look at the list of occupations under pressure in AB at http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/oup/abouplist.shtml you will see that software engineer is not on the list and if you look at the website of the Alberta H1B program athttp://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/campaigns/h1b.html you will see that one of the requirements for the program is that your job is on the list.
