likewise...my package is complete and was about to send it after work today...would absolutely suck If i have to get my spouse to fedex me the new form signed

Also curious about this. If CIC returns my package that I sent beginning of march, do I need to update this form in the application when I resubmit?

I couldn't find anything substantive , sometimes its the wording which i can't see any difference or it could be the changes to the options on the drop down boxes . If you have the option to print and resign do so .. Its always better to have an updated and completed package .

usually there isn't any noticeable change except for the version date. if the package hasn't been sent, you want to use the most updated form.

if the package has already been sent, IRCC usually accepts the old version up to a specific date of application. no one will be able to tell you what date that will be, though more than likely for applications already submitted, it's not going to be an issue. IRCC will certainly know if they want a new document.

If IRCC decides to send it back to you, it could take a month to get the application back.

I would either call them or look for details on their website about the last date they will accept the older version.

Hi, when in March was this updated? I just sent my application using 12-2016 form on March 21, and then saw this post now. Not sure if this will cause me any problem. When I compare the two forms, the only difference I see is in the left side of the footer, where one says "IMM 0008 (12-2016) E" and the other one says "IMM 0008 (03-2017) E". I didn't check all the dropdown lists, but all the fields seem to be exactly the same (i.e., no fields are added/removed in the new form). Thanks.

the form is going to look exactly the same. the only difference is the version date. it is unknown up to what date of application they will accept old forms for. as mentioned above, they sometimes have a grace period for accepting older versions.

this information will not be found on the website. it's going to be at the discretion of the officer(s) who open the applications.
