Has anyone received any news lately? I know its still early in the process for me, but quick visas given out this year made me hopeful he might be here before Christmas. October 29 will be 3 months processing in Havana for us :)

Unfortunately the posted time is 13 months for Havana so you may have another 10 months. I thinks the Canadian agent in Havana that has the final say was on holiday until Sept 7th so they created a back load and just remember that Canadian Holidays are observed by the Canadian Embassy in Havana. I know some spouses have had interviews a month or more ago and are still waiting. The process requires patience. Take this time to get ready for the spouses arrival and to take care of yourself May your visa come quickly Take Care

Hi Galano, The people from the ADR probably will be new to the case, so I would choose photos from the beginning of the relationship, but only those photos that show more that there is a real relationship. The same with the emails received and sent. My lawyer suggested just to choose from 8 to 10 emails that shows we are really in a relationship. She suggested I should translate and have certified two of the emails so that everyone could read them without the need of an interpreter.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to post some good news! Oct 19th my husband got his visa. His interview was 8:30am and he was there until almost 4pm. There were about 12 people and all of them were asked to present their passports and visa pictures. They sat around for almost 8 hours without being interviewed. My husband believes all of them were given visas that day but isn't sure. He was the first name called.

We submitted our application May 2015 and arrived in Havana July 2015. Our interview was July 2016 but he didn't have his passport yet.

I hope everyone that is still waiting has some good news soon.

Question, what is the process when my husband is flying from Cuba. What does customs ask him? Anything we should know?

Thank you,

:)

If he just got his passport I suggest he goes and gets the $25 cuc stamp on it as well this is a fee to keep his ration card and status and good for a year. He may be able to get a second one as well and that will make it good for 2 years. If he does not have the stamp they may ask for the fee at the airport( not positive ) on that. He just needs the papers that the embassy gave him when he gets to Canada he will be directed to an immigration officer and they will give his social insurance number They may ask where he will be living , address in Canada.I understand it is pretty quick. Hope this helps. Someone on here that has gone through the process may have more info.

Interview.... visa Issuance... OR Both?

Hi to All,
Recieved this today, an Email from the Candian Embassy:
¨Dear Sir / Madam,

Reference is made to the application for permanent residence received a t this office. Please be advised that we have concluded processing the file and wish to convoke applicant for final review and possible visa issuance, November 02, 2016 at 8:30 am. Documents required:

-Applicant’s passport

-2 Correct visa photos. Size: 50 x 70 mm and head must be between 31 mm and 36 mm.¨

So, does ¨Final Review¨ mean bascially, an Interview?
We will, undoubtedly, be bringing our additional evidence of our marriage, to show its continuance and ongoing nature.

Also, if the news is good...my wife´s Medical expired in mid August. How long after now...would u think the Embassy would give her....to land in Canada? I´ve read they usually extend the medical by 3 months..so would it be usual that she would have to land....by the end of the year?

Thanks.

I have a question. Does anyone know if a permanent resident of Canada who holds a Cuban passport can get into the USA without a visa or any other documents? I can't find it when trying to google it. thanks

If the person has only a Cuban passport, my understanding is that the visa is required.

"What country/authority or area issued your passport?" https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/general/visa-wizard.html

Or here: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1192/~/canadian--citizens%2Fresidents%2Flanded-immigrants-entering-the-u.s.
"Residents (PR) of Canada who are landed immigrants need a passport and visa to enter the United States, unless they are a citizen of a country eligible for the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). "

Buz, thank you.I thought a visa would be needed but could not confirm it and a friend needs to know if he can take his wife and her daughter to the states to visit his american son. How hard is it for a Cuban citizen to get a Visa to enter the USA do you know? She has only been here in Canada since August and does only have a Cuban passport at this time.

I do not really know what the chances are. Theoretically, there should not be any issue. We did not try yet.
