When they request for the passport do they tell you what day to go back to get the visa? My rep said that they may call her in the morning to bring her passport and she would receive the visa in the afternoon but I don't know.

From what I've learned, if they don't need an interview, they'll ask to go there in the am, to leave them the passport and to take it back the same day in the afternoon. They might ask for new pictures or other things like that also.

If they need an interview, they'll tell you to go there on on X day at X hour and they'll tell you its for an interview. Sometimes, they'll give the visa right after the interview if its was just to check infos or they'll ask to
wait a few days or weeks for their answer.

This is what I found and not sure it'll happen exactly like that, but I think it's pretty close to what you can expect.

Hope it helps !

Yes for sure it helped, the more info the better that way I can inform my wife and then we both will know what we are up against. I am just having that feeling that call is coming soon. Thanks

Form what I understand is that if a cuban is leaving the country for the first time! They have to fly with cubana airlines. Is that true?

What I understand is that not all airlines offer "one way" tickets. From what I know, Companies like Sunwing and Air Transat, you have to buy both ways tickets only.

that's why most people will buy one way ticket from Cuba to Canada for their loved ones with Air Canada, or Westjet or Cubana.

You can check with Air Canada or Westjet also, just to give you more possibilities.

I just spoke with an agent from cubana air lines and she told me that there are flight every Friday from Havana to Toronto or Montreal. Cost $410.97. I was also told by an agent from redtag.ca that it is best to go with cubana air and that westjet and aircanada does not do one way from Cuba.

Cabana airlines located in Toronto # is 1-866-428-2262 toll free and local is 1-416-967-2822

Beautiful!!! I am going to check on that. I did look on westjet site and yes! It did show that you can catch a one way ticket but I am going to call westjet to confirm that. Thanks Liajoi and P90X

I just contacted immigration here in Canada and they told me that it shows that I did not pay the landing fee but my representative did email it to them again on Tuesday. Immigration also said that they do make mistakes on recognizing if the payment was made or not. She said to call back in one month and check. She also said that if they asked for the landing fees then everything has gone through and has been approved. She also did say that it is a very good thing they are asking for the landing fee and that my wife may receive her visa soon.

I am getting very anxious and excited at this point. HEY!!!

Immigration also said that they don't care how they come or if they have a return ticket or not. As long as my wife has her PRV then she can come on any flight and on a one way ticket.

Sorry, I answered for him and was a mistake on my part, I'll let him answer the question....sometimes, I just feel to help people, but
answering question for an other person, was a mistake...sorry again !

The good news for us is that you are 1 month behind him and I'm 1,5 month behind.... if we go that fast, end of July - early August you should start to see some
action on your side and end of August I should start to see them work on my application also.

I don't know how the strike can delay our case...hope not too much, but our turn will come !
