Yes, this is a repeat. Use the search function to look for threads on notcanada.com I am sure there are more than one. Some of them are long. Everything that can be said has been said already.

RIP

My application was received on Dec. 31, 2008
I got a file number on Feb. 20, 2009 #588
And I am still waiting.........

So looks AINP have started to send out nominations for the next bunch of applicants who have been assigned file numbers. This is good news. AINP is maintaining the 40-60 days timeline as mentioned in the e-mail. Hopefully everyone get their nominations soon and move on to the next step

Cheers

I believe applicants who have applied AINP -H1B for under new process will obtain in May-June

Yo

It is taking upto 5 months to get the nomination. So depends on when your application was received at AINP office.

B/W we see file numbers just 5xx & 6xx does it mean only 200 ppl applied / got their file numbers ? I thousands of our H1 fraternity would have applied and I still believe folks applied will be far greater than 100000 !! Due to the current scenario in US ... Any thoughts ?

Many people are still not aware of the AB H1-SRS. Many of my friends are still not aware of or do not want to try for Canada and want to stay put in the US inspite of all the problems here.

That is right. Until Jan 2009, the SRS H1B scheme was a PILOT scheme which was not even linked or refered to anywhere on the albertacanada.com or CIC website. Now the scheme is no longer PILOT and is a category for getting AINP. Not many people were aware of it until it was put on their website.

I told my buddies on H1B about AINP. Out of 6, just one was interested - Reason: I don't know why or maybe they also think like Americans i.e. Canada is where people live in Igloos. or maybe I am too much interested because bunch of my relatives live there :-)
