Hi Guys,

I got a query from an AINP requesting me to confirm my residential address and mailing address. I had given my cousin's address as my mailing address thinking that my job would involve a lot of travelling. I stay in NJ and my cousin's in NY.

I just replied to them telling that the data given is correct. Would that create a problem???

Thanks a lot for the information.
So I have to go there and submit it.
Once its done I have go there and collect it or they will send it across in mail.

Thanks.

We did our PCC's through the DC consulate. You are right there are no forms. You have to go to the consular wing, supposedly located in the ground floor in the back and deposit your passports along with a fee of $20 per passport. There is no way you can check status as they dont pickup phones. They say that it will take upto 3 weeks ( used to be same evening delivery earlier).

We religiously checked back after 3 weeks even though from the stamping it was clear that it was done a week back. It's chaotic but hey what do you expect.

They provide a letter and add a stamp on your passport mentioning when the PCC was issued.

All in all DC does it but you just have to visit a couple of times and hope they dont ask you to come back later.

Nope. I do not think so.

I actually think they are about to send you your nomination, but they want you to confim your Mailing Address once again , since they are sending it to that address. Since your residential is different from your mailing, I think they want assurance that if they send it you will still receive it.

I did not trust them to mail it in time and I could not take chances with our passports, so I went and collected it.

Here's the instruction for FBI Identification Record Request (Fingerprinting): http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

Fingerprint Form: http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/pdf/fpcardb.pdf

I submitted the form to FBI along with my cover letter and payment form last week (My fingerprints were taken by local fringerprinting technician. It cost about US$20-30).

Jasper, how long are these PCCs and FBI Certificates valid for? 60 days? 3 months? 6 month?

Thanks

They are valid for 3 months.

I had requested California PCC a week ago, and I received the result last Friday (So it took only 4 days). Now I'm waiting for FBI clearance result, but I don't know how long it will take. I have seen someone in this forum who received his/her result in 3 weeks or so (I hope it's not going to take too long because my California PCC will expire on Mar 1).

Jasper,

You mind sharing the process of getting the California PCC?

This is the link for California PCC: http://ag.ca.gov/fingerprints/visaimmigration.php

I did electronic submission (Live Scan). It took only 5-10 min to take fingerprints at Live Scan site. I paid $18 for Live Scan and $32 for record clearance (total $50).

I got an email from AINP for updates about H1B, address change etc. yesterday

Does that mean that I will get the nomination soon.

Can someone please post the email address that was used by AINP for your doc request?
I want to add it to my address book, so the email doesn't get lost in spam. I sent my application in Feb and going by others timelines, I am expecting my doc request and nomination soon.

Appreciate your help.

Yes, thats the trend. First they send the email and then the nomination. Takes an average of 10 days for the nomination from the date of the mail.

Best of luck
