Senior Members (vsrao / deveshjaitley) any thoughts on this.... please share

Hi Folks,

I have applied for AINP under H1B category and my application reached AINP on May 12th 2009. The NOC code I have used is 2174. Though my duties and responsibilities are covered both under 2171 and 2174 I thought it wise to use 2174 since my current designation on the H1B petition matches more closely with those covered by 2174 (Sr. programmer Analyst). In most of the posts on this forum I found that the guys in IT have applied under 2171. Having said that are there any chances of rejection since I have used 2174 as my NOC...?? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Regards
Boom Josh

You should be find if your duties and responsibilities matches with NOC 2174. As of now i have seen two applicants got rejected at AINP. For more details see below thread.

Hi vsrao,

Thanks for the information.
While applying I checked the duties and responsibilities for both 2171 and 2174 and they overlap each other, moreover duties and responsibilities enlisted in my offer letters and petitions for H1b also overlap those of 2171 and 2174 but my designations on H1b petitions match more closely with those mentioned under 2174. I hope i should make it well through the nomination process.

what criteria makes a match valid ?? We do not know how they match responsibilties with the overlapping NOC codes !!

I can only say that you should keep the hope and wait for an answer. BEST OF LUCK with the process, Hope to see you at Alberta.

I am sure who ever makes it to Alberta from this Forum would be in touch with each other in Alberta too. After all we gonna live in same state :)

Check the latest version of the PDF(http://tinyurl.com/ABPNP-SRS-Timeline) separated by month.

Red background in Column "Days After File# Received" indicate they are over 122 days.
Green background in Column "Days took 2 get Nomination after File#" indicate they received nomination.

great job vsrao! this looks great and really organizes it well, thanks a bunch!

NOC maybe 2171(not sure)
sis:
receipt date June 15
file # 31xx
friend:
receipt date June 30
file # 37xx

Application reached Alberta date? 19-Feb-2009
NOC? 2171
File number? Not Received
Pre-Assesment complete? Y

I have sent email enquiring status of my application(as I did not get file number), hoping to hear back. Does anyone know if they do respond to email queries.

Wait is over for file number...
Application recieved : April 14
File Number recieved: June 26
File Number            : 3759
NOC                      : 2171

VSRao/DJ , Please update me in the list. Thanks :)

I look at the recent file numbers 3759 and the last known file number to get nomination was 664. hmmmm. Wats AINP doing!!!!!

I applied on March. It has been 3.5 months. No file # yet. I received the email saying if I have a job offer..blah blah.

I agree with Aulbrtadude....What the heck is AINP doing!! They are approaching the efficiency levels of USCIS....

I didnt hear anybdy get a nomination on this forum in a month...People with 60x who applied in January are still waiting...April people got file # before march people...I really think they need to improve the way they work but definitely not USCIS way...

Why dont they ask for USD 100 fee. If there are 3000 pending applications. They can make USD 300,000 = CAN $350,000.

With the type of salaries they have in Canada e.g. $40000/year(plus minus something you want to assume) for some B.Sc holder, they can hire at least 4 more people for couple of years....
