May I ask what brings you to this forum? I’m just curious about your perspective. No offense intended.

Have experience working in government policy in another field. As an educated voter I think it is important to get educated on various government policies. The fact that the Canadian government seems unable to do any longterm planning and seems unable to audit itself also drives me insane. The Canadian government’s naïveté also leads to so much waste and abuse which sadly doesn’t get enough attention. The H&C program is one of the programs that frustrates me the most yet gets minimal attention compared to programs like asylum, temporary foreign worker, etc. Many of the isssues people are currently experiencing could have been predicted around 5 years ago. I am genuinely perplexed as to why nothing has been done to try and reform a program that isn’t functional and is only getting worse. Most Canadians have no idea about immigration policy which is unfortunate because it is so important for Canada’s future. The poor policy decisions under the Trudeau government have lead to many Canadians becoming anti-immigration when Canada needs good immigration policies to build a strong future.

Hello guys, what's the experience of reaching you local MP about your H&C delay?

Think it is important to define what you mean by a delay? An MP can’t do anything about the small amount of quota allocated to general H&C which is primarily responsible for the long processing times.

@canuck78
Some of us received medical request under H&C from ircc.
Do you think that now H&C once again is moving.
Things never stopped moving it is just moving incredibly slowly. A medical request would indicate things are moving forward. IRCC does attempt to limit how many times a medical is required so the goal would be to land someone within a year of a medical. If there are concerns that profile may represent a case of excessive medical demand that may be another reason to request a medical at an earlier date. We also haven’t seen the updated immigration levels plan for 2027-29 so that could also impact processing times (either faster or slower). The quota for H&C is currently scheduled to decrease every year so processing from AIP to PR may continue to increase. As I have highlighted many times people should explore all other options, although after AIP, you are in a better position at the moment. This is especially the case if you are younger. It makes much more sense to leave Canada and try to qualify for an economic program (which could take a few years) versus waiting for H&C to be processed especially if you’re don’t have status or will lose status so you also risk removal and limited access to services, some education, etc. Almost everyone applying for H&C should be actively learning French.

Hi guys
I did medical exam that i received last week.
Today I received another medical exam
I don't know what is going on?

Your medical hasn’t been formally received by IRCC (it was likely sent) so you are getting another request/reminder. Just ignore it if you have completed the medical. Your medical with show up as passed in the upcoming weeks or if it takes longer that means IRCC healthcare staff is reviewing the results to see if they want additional information.

Having looked at your case if you get PR you are extremely lucky. You only spent a few years in Canada first as student and then you claimed asylum and have been removed for Canada for multiple years at this point. Was there another element to your case? That said you could have probably learned French by now and could have received PR through French streams.
