In my opinion, I don't think Canuck is telling us anything bad, but he's speaking the truth and helping people if they ask questions about immigration.
I didn’t say that Canuck doesn’t help people or that he’s disrespectful, he’s someone who comments and is interested in immigration. However, life isn’t just black and white, it’s gray. And I can say that, from my experience on this forum, Canuck has always taken quite a strict stance on immigration, especially regarding humanitarian considerations. I get the impression that he favors economic immigration programs, even though those programs aren’t always beneficial for Canada. Just because someone isn’t qualified for an economic immigration program doesn’t mean they’re not useful to Canada; that doesn’t mean anything at all. I remember very well how pessimistic he was and how he never hesitated to demoralize us during COVID, claiming that COVID would have lasting impacts. Then it was the Ukraine event, Afghanistan, the rise of conservatism in Canada… In short, he always took a rather negative stance while still being liberal in his perspective. That’s why I say that life isn’t just black or white; one can be liberal and yet rigid and somewhat closed in their way of expressing themselves.
Despite knowing full well that, for humanitarian considerations, he is dealing with people in probably vulnerable and delicate situations, and that it’s better to try to be more humane in the way of expressing oneself, that wasn’t the case at all
So, to sum up does Canuck help people even though, from what I understand, he has no professional legitimacy? Yes, he does! He helps people and gives advice.
Did Canuck do something wrong? In my opinion, yes, he did! I’m not someone who supports completely open immigration, and I personally believe in the importance of integration in Canada, in interculturalism, and in loyalty to this country. But since I’m an immigrant myself (from a newer generation) and have gone through difficult times in my life, it has made me more sensitive toward others able to feel other people’s vulnerability and struggles because I’ve experienced them myself. And that has taught me nuance! I’m not an anarchist when it comes to immigration, but I’ve developed a strong humanistic sense. That’s what hardships are supposed to teach us to be more compassionate toward others, to support one another, to stay positive, and to understand that after darkness, there is always light
