My work permit expires in mid May. Let's say I apply for visitor record before work permit expiry. And let's say In July I receive a rejection letter online for visitor record. How long do I have after that rejection to left Canada. 30 days ? 60 days? Asking because it is unrealistic that someone will be able to leave the day that they get rejection. You need maybe a week or two to buy ticket, throw out furniture etc. please advise what is the grace period legally if there is any.

You should leave within 30 days.

Thank you Scylla is there a link for the rule. Just want to be extra sure
No, it's not really a hard fast rule but more a general guideline to avoid issues with future re-entry and/or future temp visas. If you want to stay 60 days, then apply to restore your status to visitor when you get the refusal.

Thank you if I leave within 30 days after I get my visitor record rejection, for future applications can I say I have NOT overstayed??? As stated earlier a normal person would need maybe a week or two to buy tickets, sell car furniture after getting rejection. Just want to be sure staying a week or two after rejection does not affect future applications

You would still have to say that you remained in Canada beyond the validity of your visa.
